A Designer’s Favorite: Where Style Meets Smart Solutions

Welcome to one of my favorite kitchen designs—a space where timeless craftsmanship meets modern ingenuity!

As the designer, I had the pleasure of working with Showplace Cabinetry to bring this vision to life. We chose Cherry Sparrow wood for its rich, natural warmth and paired it with Urbane Bronze painted cabinets to create a striking contrast that feels both grounded and contemporary. Topping it all off are Silestone quartz countertops, which add a sleek, durable surface that’s as beautiful as it is hardworking.

But beauty is just the beginning. This kitchen is a masterclass in smart storage and thoughtful features:

• A Lamonze blind corner pullout makes the most of every inch, turning tricky corners into accessible storage.
• Countertop cabinets with drawers offer easy access to everyday essentials while keeping the counters clutter-free.
• A utensil and tray pullout keeps cooking tools organized and within reach.
• Waste basket pullouts are seamlessly integrated to maintain the clean, streamlined look.
• A dedicated coffee station adds a touch of luxury and convenience for your daily routine.
• And a full-height pantry provides generous storage space while maintaining a cohesive, built-in aesthetic.

Design Process: Turning Challenges into Features

During the design process, we encountered a structural limitation: the soffit above the range couldn’t be removed. Rather than seeing this as a setback, we saw it as an opportunity. We used the range hood as a focal point to draw the eye upward, creating a sense of height and balance. By centering the hood perfectly with the range and designing around the soffit, we turned a constraint into a standout feature that anchors the entire wall.

We also carefully considered the use of tile to enhance the kitchen’s contemporary feel. While the cabinetry and layout offer a warm, transitional base, the tile application adds a modern edge—bringing texture, contrast, and a clean-lined aesthetic that ties the whole space together.
